Supergirl, also known as Kara Zor-El, is a DC superheroine who shares a similar origin to her cousin, Superman. She debuted in *Action Comics* #252 in 1959.

Kara is a Kryptonian, born on the planet Krypton. Just before Krypton's destruction, her parents sent her to Earth in a rocket, much like Kal-El (Superman). She possesses similar powers to Superman, including flight, super strength, and heat vision.

Various iterations of Supergirl exist. She has been depicted as everything from a teenager adjusting to life on Earth to a powerful force against intergalactic threats, often fighting alongside Superman and other DC heroes. Her character offers a symbol of hope and resilience.
